Position Description

The Shenandoah Community Health Clinic (SCHC) is seeking a part-time/full-time Registered Nurse to join our Medical team! SCHC is a non-profit Medical, Behavioral Health and Dental clinic governed by a board of community volunteers and in the Shenandoah Valley of Northern Virginia.

Our Mission: Bridging gaps in healthcare, while providing access to a wide variety of essential services to the whole community.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality patient care, promotes wellness, and supports patients and their families through various healthcare needs. This role involves direct patient care, collaboration with healthcare teams, and adherence to healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care: Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians.

Monitoring: Observe and record patient vital signs, symptoms, and progress, ensuring early detection of any changes.

Medical Procedures: Assist in diagnostic tests and other medical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on healthcare management, treatment plans, and preventive measures.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal requirements.

Emergency Response: Provide immediate medical attention and intervention in emergency situations.

Team Collaboration: Work with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.

Supervision: Guide and supervise nursing assistants and other support staff.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.

Licensure: Valid and unrestricted RN license in the state of Virginia.

Experience: Experience in a clinical setting is preferred.

Skills:

Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in providing medical care.

Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Effective communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare software.

Ability to handle stressful situations with empathy and professionalism.
