Position Description
As a Report and Forms Analyst, you will be responsible for developing, designing, and maintaining SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports and building various forms for data collection and reporting. These forms can be in systems (included but not limited to) our EHR, MS Access, or O365 Forms. Your primary focus will be on translating business requirements into effective and visually appealing reports that provide actionable insights to our stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Report Development: Design, develop, and maintain SSRS reports using SQL Server Reporting Services, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to best practices. • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to gather report requirements, understand their needs, and translate them into technical specifications. • Data Analysis: Analyze data from various sources, perform complex queries, and extract the relevant information required for report generation. • Forms: Translate data requirements into simple forms to gather/store required information. • Report Design: Create visually appealing and intuitive report layouts with appropriate data visualizations, including tables, charts, and graphs, to effectively present information and aid in decision-making. • Report Optimization: Optimize report performance by fine-tuning SQL queries, improving data retrieval processes. • Data Validation: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data displayed in reports by performing thorough data validation and testing. • Documentation: Document report development processes, data sources, and report specifications to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base and enable effective collaboration with team members. • Report Maintenance: Monitor and troubleshoot existing reports, identify and resolve issues or bugs, and provide ongoing support to end users. • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, database administrators, and business analysts, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of reporting solutions with overall business goals. • Stay Up to Date: Keep abreast of the latest advancements in SSRS technology, SQL best practices, and reporting tools to continuously improve report development processes and enhance data visualization capabilities. • Actively participate in regular, reflective, and collaborative supervision. Be prepared with questions, concerns, and other related material prior to beginning each supervisory session. Share pertinent information with supervisor and team members regarding work progress, success, barriers, concerns and other areas that may have an impact on the Program or Agency. • Demonstrate continued sensitivity to and respect for differences in language, culture, socioeconomic status, gender identity, sexuality and individuality pertaining to clientele and colleagues.
Skills and Training Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience in designing and writing complex queries, views, and stored procedures. • Extensive experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and report development. • Proficiency in data visualization principles and report design best practices. • Solid understanding of relational databases, data warehousing concepts, and data modeling. • Experience in working with large datasets and performance tuning of reports. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
