Job Summary and Qualifications

General Surgery is an area that deals with a wide range of conditions.
As a general surgery nurse, you will work with general surgeons to take care
of such patients both physically and emotionally.
General surgery nurse’s duties can vary depending on the setting and the
patient’s condition, but some common responsibilities include:
Assessing patients
Ordering medical tests based on provider guidance
Providing clinical expertise for complex cases and medical emergencies
Monitoring patient health
Administering medications
Educating patients on health maintenance
Preparing equipment and assisting physicians during examinations and
treatments
Performing evaluation of new and existing patients, check patient vital signs,
care coordination: coordinating care with physicians, specialists and surgical
centers.
Scheduling procedures and surgeries accordingly.
Additionally, the Clinic Nurse will work closely with the medical staff to
ensure quality care is provided to all patients. We are an amazing team that

What you will do in this role:
· You will manage efficient flow of patients including screening, preparation
for exam, providing general nursing care, and arranging or testing and
admissions
· You will instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment
instructions
· You will maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and
examination results
· You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders
· You will check rooms daily for necessary supplies
· You will respond to and refer incoming telephone calls (may include phone
triage when needed)
What Qualifications you will need:
· Graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing is required
· 1-3 years experience as a registered nurse is preferred
· Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations
