Job Summary and Qualifications

The Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator works with trauma program
leadership to coordinate all aspects of the department’s Performance
Improvement and Patient Safety (PIPS) Program. The PI Coordinator will review
the continuum of care to determine compliance with practice management
guidelines, policies and procedures, and established standards of care.

What you will do in this role:

• Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Trauma Performance Improvement and Patient Safety Plan.
• Maintain the Trauma PI database to ensure adequate documentation as required by regulatory agencies.
• Complete concurrent review of cases to identify quality, timelines and systems of care to meet state standards.
• Participate in hospital education programs for nurses and resident physicians caring for trauma patients.
• Serve as a liaison to the clinical areas responsible for trauma patients.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary monthly Trauma Systems & Operations Committee and Peer Review meetings.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
• Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation.
• BLS-AHA Provider issued card required within 30 days of start
• Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma
