Position Description

Key Responsibilities

In emergent situations, establish and maintain patient airway for adequate ventilation of all types.

Administer inhaled medications and therapies accordingly.

Obtain, analyze, and evaluate ABG’s and recommend treatment.

Participate in C-section and high-risk deliveries to assess and treat as necessary.

Responsible for EKG’s, Holter and event monitors, stress testing, and Home Sleep Study testing.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation.

Ability to step in and cover Director of Respiratory Care duties including sleep studies if necessary.

Skills

Maintain accurate and current computer charges and therapies.

Ability to work independently and collaborate with physicians, nursing, and other departments for optimum patient care.

Good time management skills and ability to adapt to the stress of the constantly changing hospital environment.

Qualifications

Graduate of accredited Respiratory Therapy program or Associate degree in Respiratory Care from accredited institution

BLS Certification required

Recommend ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications

1-2 years’ experience working in a larger institution, preferred

Work Schedule – Full-time, Nights
