Position Description

This is a full-time neuropsychologist position (40 hours/week; 80 hours/pay period) for the Alexandria VA Health Care System. The neuropsychologist provides direct patient care, teaching/training services, and program evaluation/outcomes services. Incumbent is responsible for the development and implementation of neuropsychological assessment and consultation specifically for veterans with neurocognitive related disorders. They effectively communicate with a wide range of healthcare staff and facility leadership, and utilize existing evidence-based assessments as part of thorough test batteries to determine appropriate diagnosis and treatment of veterans exhibiting symptom of cognitive decline and/or dysfunction.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

Likely starting base salary range: $111,535-$145,000

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Must be a U.S. Citizen (*will consider non- citizen candidates*)

Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State

Doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA)

Completed a professional psychology internship training program that was accredited by APA or CPA

Trained and certified in evidence-based psychotherapies such as CBT, ACT, CPT, and PE. (Preferred)

Experience working within a BHIP team. (Preferred)

Must be highly motivated, team-oriented, and committed to the care and good health of our Veterans.

Internships : Have successfully completed a professional psychology internship training program that was accredited by APA or CPA at the time the program was completed and that is consistent with the assignment for which the applicant is to be employed.
