Job Summary and Qualifications

* Under the direction of the Vice President (VP) of Quality Management, you will share 24-hour responsibility for managing the Stroke program to ensure objectives, outcomes, and goals are achieved

  • In collaboration with the Medical Director and service line leaders, you will be responsible for assuring evidenced-based standards of care for patients are met as required by The Joint Commission, and other regulatory agencies (ie. American Stroke Association (ASA) Get with the Guidelines Program)
  • You will be responsible for program development, planning, organizing, implementation, assessment, and performance improvement of the service line. In addition, you will be responsible for hospital services utilization, community outreach, EMS outreach and education, staff and physician education and training, and marketing communications
  • In addition to complete operation responsibilities, you will be responsible for compliance with all regulatory bodies, state, and federal accrediting organizations. In collaboration with the Medical Director, you will be responsible for operational oversight of the Stroke Program Licensed Independent Practitioners (LIP) to include management of assignments and call schedules to assure staffing and productivity targets are met
# What qualifications you will need:

* Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada

  • MSN or MBA preferred
  • Stroke Certified RN preferred
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required within 6 months of hire
  • Minimum of 5 years nursing experience
  • Minimum of 3 years recent experience in neurologic critical care, emergency care, or neuroscience medical surgical setting
  • Minimum 3 years management or nursing leadership experience required
  • Prior experience as a Program Manager or Performance Improvement/Quality Manager preferred; evidence of advanced clinical knowledge, leadership abilities, and teaching and communication skills is preferred
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities required: Physical Assessment, Lab data interpretation, and Nursing theory; Proficient in PC-based computer software, i.e., Word, Excel, Access. PowerPoint, Visio, and/or similar systems. Experience with hospital systems such as Meditech; Familiarity with Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center Certification requirements; Familiarity with Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification requirements; Familiarity with ASA Get With the Guidelines program
