Job Summary and Qualifications

#

* Demonstrates the ability to adapt technique/treatment to age of population served, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, while providing care/service with respect to cultural differences and spiritual needs

• Individualizes preoperative planning and preparation for surgical intervention to meet the needs of each patient and his/her surgeon
• Prepares the surgical suite / clinical area, supplies and equipment to ensure safety for patients and personnel
• Assists with the surgical procedure
• Adheres to the Association of Surgical Technologist Code of Ethics
• Contributes to an environment that is conducive to clinical education of surgical technology students
• Participates in routine unit duties
• All other duties as assigned

What qualifications you will need :
Required Registration, Licensure or Certification: Current Basic Life Support
(BLS) verification course through American Heart Assoc. or American Red Cross
– Healthcare Provider CPR
Preferred Registration, Licensure or Certification: Certification as a
Surgical Technologist (CST)
Required Education or Experience, graduate of an approved school of surgical
technology
Preferred Education or Experience: Previous experience performing surgical
technologist duties in an obstetrical setting
