Work On Beautiful U.S. Topical Island
Job Description

Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation (CHCC)
Position Description
Where We Are?
CNMI is part of an island chain located north of Guam in the western pacific. The three inhabited islands are Saipan, Tinian and Rota. Saipan is home to 85% of the population and the territory’s only hospital. The islands are rich in history from the arrival of pacific islanders through World War II battles.
Tinian is about 130 miles north of Guam and 5 miles southwest of Saipan, where the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation hospital is located. The island is the site of the historic North Field and the Atomic Bomb Pits, the loading and launching point of WWII’s Enola Gay.
Further south, the island of Rota possesses a unique character that wins over just about everyone that goes there. It is the home of several interesting places, including the ancient Taga Stone Quarry and the popular Bird Sanctuary. It is located about 60 miles from Guam and 80 miles from Saipan. An added bonus for our area is that the great lands of Asia are just a short (and affordable) hop away!
To discover more about these islands, visit the website for Marianas Visitors’ Authority at www.mymarianas.com. You may also want to visit the website at www.saipandoctors.com which may help to give you a feel for the overall healthcare community in the Northern Mariana Islands.
Tinian and Rota are remote islands, each with a population around 1,500. This is a fairly isolated assignment and requires strong interest and well-rounded experience in rural medicine practice. A broad skill-set is needed along with the ability to know when to send the patient on or ask for help. Both Tinian and Rota have limited and frequently changing resources. The ER and on-call staff in Saipan are always available for consultation.
