Job Summary and Qualifications
Wound Care Registered Nurse PRN
What you will do in this role:
The Wound Care RN leads in the assessing, planning, implementing and
evaluating the care of patients in the Advanced Wound Care Center with the
goal of preventing hospital-acquired infections and facilitate the healing of
patients who present admission wounds. Develops, revises and implements
ostomy and wound policies and procedures (evidence based practice)

• Develops, revises and implements ostomy and wound order sets (evidence based practice)
• Consults and develops plans of care (per nursing process and scope) for patients with ostomies and wounds (evidence based practice)
• Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served
• Demonstrates ability to perform technical skills and procedures
• Documents all required components of patient care
• Facilitates and supports ongoing ostomy and wound care education for staff members
• Collects, analyzes and reports essential information related to wound prevalence, wound incidence and departmental operations to appropriate bodies
• Leads and/or participates on performance improvement teams
• Acts as liaison between Centennial Medical Center and internal/external customers
• Supports the facility’s Standards of Performance and ICARE values

Participates in Performance Improvement activities to assure continuous
Quality Improvement. Maintains cultural and diversity awareness when dealing
with patients, visitors, co-workers and all other customers. Promotes a
supportive, team-work oriented environment. Fulfills departmental
responsibilities with the long-range plan, mission, vision and values of
Horizon. Assist in coordinating the department’s participation in Performance
Improvement activities to assure continuous Quality Improvement.
What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred
• Current licensure with the TN Board of Nursing.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification required within 30 days of hire or promotion
• Current CWON or CWOCN certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire
